I figured out what I did wrong.
I called her friend a whore.
But ultimately, shouldn’t I have known better? I was basically on the brink, but I let my judgment think that my position in her life was that of an immutable object. In other words, I forgot that I’m nothing but a lowly omega male in a desperate position, and that what I say can send me back into the abyss of lonliness. Of course, even though she routinely said the worst things about said friend, she still kept going out with her to the club on a weekly basis. Yes, she was a damned whore that cheats on some hapless beta male boyfriend in a chase for guys that are less herb and more tingle, but somehow, it wasn’t my place to point it out, especially to a girl who has a bit of a tendency to cheat on her boyfriends and go chase alpha as well. So not only did I rail on her friend and expose a certain thorny issue that she attempts to suppress, but I broke the rule about coming across as a bitter angry herb trying to be a lacky to a female.
I think I finally learned my lesson, but I don’t think I’ll have anybody to practice it on in the future.

This is completely based on intuition, but I’m reasonably suspicious that you and Roissy (the original guy, not the CR collaborators) might be the same person. Someone playing the Locke to his own Demosthenes.

Well that is your problem. You are desperate. Women will chase you if you are interested – but not too interested. Read “Surely You are Joking Mr. Feynman” again. Everything you need to know is in one short chapter of that book.
Back when I was “dating” I loved getting women in bed to just sleep naked with me. Of course she assumed she was getting sex once she accepted the offer. She got nothing. About 3/4s of the time the lady would come back gagging for it. The first mate told me many years later her thinking on the matter – “Is he gay? Is there something wrong with me?” It is the last bit that makes them come back with a “determined” attitude.
No matter how much it hurts you have to be confident she will give in. Sooner or later. And widen your circle. There is nothing more attractive to a woman than a man who already has one. If she wants you in the least she starts competing.
So date lots of girls. Depending on the girl – let her know subtly or directly that you are seeing others.
I used to run the whole thing as a campaign. Got to X’s house on Monday, Y’s on Wednesday and see the Z girls on Thursday. For the initial sort quantity is a good thing. Make sure they know other girls are in the running. If they counter with other guys be indifferent. You know in your heart of hearts that she will never find anyone better than you.

And for as long as you live never be her backup plan. She is your backup plan. If she is on the defensive (no need to be crude about it unless she likes that) she will work harder to please you. At the very least flirt. There should always be in the back of her mind: what if he finds someone better who will give him more.

I wondered the same thing too. DA and Roissy one and the same I know that’s not true now, but I get why you’d think that.
I’m disappointed DA that you haven’t started singing a new tune. This means you really do think all those things about yourself (omega blah, blah, blah) and you bought hook line and sinker the message at places like Roissy. Haven’t you realized they all have thier own need to buy into that cool aid too? Some men get the idea that they’re alphas because they’re assholes and then blame the hamsters women have for not getting women because heck plain girls are beneath them. When truth is they’re assholes and no one wants them.
Nice guys DO NOT finish last. I know I’d like you if I met you. Get out there young man and date. Online NOW!
And readers of DA, he’s NOT ugly, I’ve seen a picture and that’s a story he tells others to bolster his credibility, but he’s not. Just sayin DA.
